The Boat Builders by Winslow Homer (1836-1910) was painted in 1873 and is currently on display at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It is an oil on panel and measures a tiny 6 x 10-1/4 inches.

For my doctorate in environmental toxicology/epidemiology, I studied the biological effects of styrene exposure on boat builders in Rockport, Maine. Rockport is close to where Winslow Homer lived and worked. I spent many years as a consultant researching the health effects of seals from PCB exposure in the coastal waters of the Gulf of Maine. I have indexed numerous scientific texts. A list of my scientific publications (1997-2009) is available here.

In addition, my indexing experience includes books for young people dealing with bullying, slavery, children in the labor movement, horseback riding librarians, explorers in Madagascar, and other subjects. I have also indexed numerous books on early childhood education.
