Boat
Builders by Winslow Homer |
The Boat Builders by Winslow Homer (1836-1910), was painted in 1873 and is currently on display at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It is oil on panel and measures a tiny 6 x 10-1/4 inches. My indexing experience includes children's books dealing with such subjects
as slavery, children's in the labor movement, horse-backing riding librarians
of Eastern Kentucky, and explorers in Madgascar. I
also have worked on numerous books on education and have indexed many travel books. Social sciences indexes include books on planning, economics, urban design,
anthropology, etc. I hold a doctorate in public health/environmental toxicology and, for my dissertation, studied styrene exposure in boat builders in Rockport, Maine. Rockport is close to where Winslow Homer lived and worked for many years. When I am not indexing, I am involved in research on health effects from PCB exposure in the coastal waters of the Gulf of Maine. |
